Adam Takes Part in Sawfish and Shark Surveys in Northern Queensland
Principal Consultant Adam Harman recently volunteered two weeks of his time to assist Sharks and Rays Australia (SARA) to lead sawfish and shark surveys in northern Queensland. Sadly, the results didn’t quite go Adam’s way, but judging by his account it would seem he still he still had an amazing time:
“Sad to say after many (many) hours of intensive sampling along the Norman River, QLD from fresh headwaters to the southern Gulf of Carpentaria, we didn’t encounter any sawfish or river shark species! All was not lost though; we covered some awesome country, encountered a cute little bat ray (pictured, bottom right) and a decent shovel nose shark amongst a diverse suite of freshwater, estuarine and marine fishes :)”
A selection of happy snaps from Adam’s trip
