Weeli Wolli Spring Catchment
WRM was contracted to undertake aquatic fauna baseline studies and impact assessment on the Weeli Wolli Spring catchment by a large resource company.
Three rounds of aquatic fauna and water quality sampling were carried out in 2011 and 2012. Sites were sampled depending on the seasonal availability of water and included reference sites and sites downstream of the proposed development. Aquatic surveys involved habitat characterisation, and sampling of water quality, microinvertebrates (zooplankton), hyporheic fauna, macroinvertebrates, fish, and turtles. WRM provided information on the conservation significance of all aquatic fauna and assessed the potential impacts on these fauna.
